Metrolina Habitat ReStores

Metrolina Habitat ReStores, a group of 11 Habitat for Humanity ReStores in the greater Charlotte area, accept donations of new and gently used items from individuals and businesses and sell those items to the public at a reduced cost (usually 50-70 percent of the original retail value).

Donating and shopping at Habitat ReStores helps your community as all proceeds go towards building affordable houses through local Habitat affiliates. Supporting a local ReStore can be transformative on a global scale. Nearly 2 billion people around the world live in inadequate housing, and more than 100 million are homeless.

More than 246 million tons of material was dumped in 2005, much of it recyclable. By donating gently used furniture, appliances, fixtures, and building materials to the local ReStore, you become part of the solution to reducing fossil fuel consumption, reducing landfills in your backyard while giving families the opportunity for first time home ownership.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live.
